It is what is unknown. It is what exactly is happening in the world today. However, to be more precise, news is information that is intended for a certain audience. For instance, what happens in Mexico is not truly that much of a problem in a far away place, say, Africa.
A commentary, are highly-intellectual comments made by individuals on a certain text or matter. For example, a commentary about cholesterol might target the types of cholesterol, which is good and bad, and what their dissimilarities are. They are not just some random comments like we find in most blogs nowadays. Instead, they are highly intellectual and well-thought of comments which add value to the textual content, as well as to a news or news article.
News and Commentary work hand in hand in a newspaper. Without one, the other would exist. However, the paper would not be complete without the informative information and the witty and entertaining comments.
